What are we looking for?

You will teach a range of subjects including life and living skills, personal and social development and vocational skills. This will include extensive collaboration with learning support assistants as well as providing pastoral care. You will also contribute to internal verification and standardisation meetings.

You’ll help our students improve their confidence and their prospects as they enhance their knowledge of the English language/literacy and/or numeracy. From undertaking enrolment and induction, to monitoring attendance and preparing students for external accreditation, you’ll provide flexible and empathetic support. Alongside carrying out relevant administration, you’ll work closely with our dynamic and experienced team in the development of the teaching curriculum and materials.

You will have either a recognised teaching qualification or English as a second language (ESOL) qualification, such as Cert Ed, PGCE or DTLLS or CELTA, Trinity TESOL. This will be complemented by practical teaching experience of ESOL and Functional Skills. Able to relate to the needs of unemployed adults, you will have a strong commitment to diversity and equality of opportunity.
