Stoke on Trent College is the largest provider of further education in Stoke and North Staffordshire, with around 10,000 students each year on full-time and part-time study programmes, apprenticeships, professional qualifications and university-level courses. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainer Assessor of Childcare and Education to join us at our Cauldon Campus. This is a fantastic opportunity to join us at an exciting stage of the College’s New Beginnings journey to outstanding. 

The Role

The successful candidate will take full responsibility for a cohort of candidates who are undertaking vocationally related qualifications principally Level 2 and 3 Children and Young People’s Workforce (Early Years Educator) and Level 2 and 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning.

The primary focus of this role is to undertake assessment of candidates in the workplace in a professional and timely manner, undertaking regular reviews of learners’ progress and taking responsibility for all administration connected with the job role.  Candidates should be able to offer some degree of flexibility in terms of hours/days of work.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who is occupationally competent with a good range of relevant experience. The successful candidate will be educated to Level 3 in a relevant vocational subject and hold assessor qualifications; they will be a good communicator with the ability to negotiate with candidates and employers and take a supportive approach with our learners.  Some flexibility will be required in terms of hours/days of work.
