Salary Range: £26,661 - £34,653 per annum pro rata

(Grade 3B – 4A, SCP 26 – 38)

37 hours per week (1.0 FTE), full-time

Stoke on Trent College is going through an exciting change and transformation programme.  This has resulted in the creation of a number of teaching opportunities within the College and we are looking for inspirational and dedicated individuals to join us on our journey to Outstanding. 

We are looking to recruit an experienced ESOL teacher to work as part of the Foundation Studies Department. The ideal candidate will hold a teaching and subject-specific teaching qualification to effectively deliver a range of ESOL qualifications. 

The successful applicant should have experience of delivering ESOL in a various settings from Pre-entry to Level 1 including working with learners with basic literacy needs. The ability to contribute to the development of innovative and exciting ESOL courses to meet the needs of a wide range of learners is essential. 

Key tasks of the post:

  • Teach effectively through the range of the department’s ESOL courses, which will include lessons, cover and the delivery of courses based at the college
  • Thoroughly prepare suitable teaching, learning and assessment materials for a range of courses/levels and make use of a variety and appropriate learning and teaching methods.
  • Continue to develop the colleges VLE Platform and digital technologies as a method of delivering flexible teaching, learning and assessment
