We’re now looking for a technical authority for the IT and digital function overseeing all technical infrastructure work in our ambitious digital transformation strategy. As a technical specialist member of the IT and Digital Team, this is a unique and progressive opportunity to use your expertise to shape the future technical solutions and cyber security stance for the College. Delivering a digital transformation strategy within a small team of technical colleagues under the leadership of the Director of IT and Digital, you will work across the College to achieve a reliable and resilient enterprise architecture in servers, storage and platforms, whilst working in close collaboration with a specialist network colleague.

Key tasks of the post will include design, deployment and operational maintenance of the physical and virtual server estate, Microsoft 365 tenancy administration, business systems such as finance and HR, and curriculum delivery technology. You will work as part of the IT team within the larger IT and Digital Team, providing a modern infrastructure with a cloud-priority focus to enable the exciting delivery of digital transformation.

You will be an experienced systems and platforms administrator of storage area networks such as VMware (or similar), NetApp (or similar), Microsoft 365 and Microsoft hosted applications along with a rounded knowledge of firewall and identity access management systems with a specific knowledge of Active Directory. You will be asked to contribute to reports regarding security, operational and improvement works, design and improve the infrastructure estate, whilst continuing to complete service desk requests and act as a senior point of technical escalation.

You will be asked for a short presentation as part of the interview process, of which the details will be provided upon successful progression of your application.
