FOUNDATION STUDIES AND ADDITIONAL LEARNING SUPPORT

LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT (PERSONAL CARER)

Salary Range: £16,822 - £17,436 per annum, pro rata

Part-time, 30 hours per week (0.66 FTE), term-time only (36 weeks per year)

Stoke on Trent College is going through an exciting change and transformation programme.  This has resulted in the creation of opportunities within the College and we are looking for inspirational and dedicated individuals to join us on our journey to Outstanding.

Key tasks of the post, will include:

  • Providing appropriate support for learners with a disability and/or learning difficulty or additional learning support needs, to remove barriers to learning and to promote independence.
  • Provide support in class, group study skills sessions and via 1-1 sessions.
  • Implement effective support plans to detail requirements of learners whilst working towards targets and monitoring/ reviewing progress.
  • Provide support to learners who have personal care needs.

You will work as part of the Learning Support team.  

You will possess a minimum of Level 2 (GCSE) in Maths and English (A* - C) or a willingness to attain these qualifications with the support of the College. You will also have a Level 3 certificate in Learning Support or a willingness to acquire this qualification.
