At Stoke on Trent College, we’re committed to creating a workplace where every colleague feels safe, supported and valued. As part of this commitment, we’ve launched our Domestic Abuse Workplace Champions initiative alongside our new Supporting Those Affected by Domestic Abuse Policy.
Our Workplace Champions have been specially trained by local domestic abuse charity New Era to provide a confidential first point of contact for colleagues who may be experiencing domestic abuse. They offer a safe, supportive space, listening without judgement and signposting colleagues to specialist advice and support.
Our new policy further reinforces this commitment by ensuring colleagues affected by domestic abuse can access appropriate workplace support and reasonable adjustments when they need them most. Together, these initiatives reflect our commitment to fostering a compassionate, inclusive workplace where colleagues feel supported both personally and professionally.
